Okechukwu Somtochukwu Angel is a Bitcoin educator, project lead, and community manager committed to expanding Bitcoin adoption and financial inclusion across Nigeria and Africa. Known online as @Thebitcoinladyy, she has become a familiar and trusted voice in the Bitcoin space—empowering newbies, women, and students through clear education and active community engagement.
Her journey started with curiosity, but quickly grew into a purpose-driven path of advocacy, leadership, and public education. Angel has held multiple influential roles, including Welfare Lead, Assistant Community Lead, Project Lead, and Education/Research Lead across several Bitcoin organizations. She also contributes to Hope With Bitcoin, where she supports Bitcoin-powered humanitarian initiatives for orphans and vulnerable communities.
Angel has designed, led, and executed impactful Bitcoin projects—ranging from educational campaigns, university outreach executions, community programs, wallets and security trainings, to high-engagement online events. Notable among her initiatives are “The Bitcoin-Mind Connection,” “Overcoming Economic Inequality With Bitcoin,” and interactive Bitcoin Basics workshops that have onboarded dozens of new users.
A graduate of Genetics and Biotechnology from the University of Calabar, she combines scientific discipline with strong communication, leadership, and project management skills. She is also a certified student of African Bitcoiners and a graduate of a 6-day Bitcoin Masterclass, continuously strengthening her expertise to teach others effectively.
Angel’s work centers on building practical Bitcoin literacy and real adoption—not just theory. She actively promotes women’s participation in Bitcoin, student education, and the creation of circular Bitcoin economies. Through her work as a project lead, educator, speaker, moderator, and community manager, she is shaping the next generation of informed Bitcoin users in Africa.
